Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to orders placed on this website with Artisan Meat Co.. By placing an order you accept them. They are subject to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

1. Products and weights

Meat is sold in 500g and 1kg packs. Because meat is cut by hand, the actual weight of a pack may vary slightly (usually within 5%). We always aim to give you at least the weight you paid for. Photos are for illustration; natural variation in colour, marbling and shape is normal.

All meat sold is halaal. Bulk pack contents may be substituted with an item of equal or greater value if something is unavailable; we will tell you before delivery.

2. Prices and payment

Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. Prices and specials can change without notice but the price at checkout is the price you pay. We accept card payments and EFT. EFT orders are dispatched once payment reflects, or earlier on receipt of proof of payment at our discretion.

3. Orders

An order is accepted when we confirm it by email or message. We may decline or cancel an order (for example if stock runs out, a price was shown in error, or the address is outside our delivery area) and will refund any payment in full.

4. Delivery

We deliver in Rustenburg only, for a flat fee of R35. Orders placed before 16:00 are delivered the same day where possible; later orders the next day. Delivery times are estimates. Please make sure someone is available to receive perishable goods. See our Delivery Policy for details.

5. Returns and refunds

Because our products are perishable, the cooling-off and return rules for perishable goods apply. Quality problems are handled under our Returns & Refunds policy.

6. Rewards programme

Reward points have no cash value, cannot be transferred and may be changed or ended with notice on our Rewards page. Points earned on cancelled or refunded orders are removed.

7. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for orders placed through your account.

8. Liability

Store and cook meat safely: refrigerate on arrival and cook to safe temperatures. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from incorrect storage or handling after delivery. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
